Canasta: No experience necessary! We meet monthly for a fun afternoon or evening of cards at a member’s home. Light refreshments will be served.
Child’s Play: Come Play! Child’s Play is a network of welcoming groups whose doors are always open to newcomers. Playgroups are organized by your child’s year of birth. Moms, Dad, Guardians and Nannies Welcome!
Dinner Club: Meets in members’ homes in groups of 8-12 on a Saturday evening to share a meal. Participants bring 1-2 courses based on a specific theme.
Coffee Talk: Held monthly, this relaxing morning is a great introduction to Neighbors and Newcomers. Meet new people or catch up with old friends. Coffee and light refreshments served.
Culinary Club: A great way to meet other women over a casual lunch in a member’s home. Cook your specialty or pick up a dish fitting each month’s theme. Share your own recipes or try out those from your favorite chef. All levels of cooking expertise welcome!
Girls Night Out: Singles, Moms, empty-nesters—everyone can use an evening of great food, drink and new friends. We typically venture to area restaurants, but occasionally try movies, crafts and even yoga! Restaurant bill (excluding cocktails) will be split evenly.
Giving Back: Special charitable collections for local agencies, helping at the Senior Center and our annual sponsorship of Operation Hope families at the holidays.
Homefront: Enjoy projects that enhance your home environment? Then you’ll love Homefront. From cooking to gardening to crafty projects, there is something for everyone. Have an interest you would like to explore? Let us know!
Luncheon Club: Prefer to try out local restaurants? Luncheon club explores the best the area has to offer. The food bill is split equally and carpooling can be arranged for our out-of-town jaunts.
Knit Night: Bring your favorite project—knitting, needlepoint, sewing and spend a couple of hours working with other Neighbors and Newcomers who share your interests. We meet monthly and rotate houses. Light refreshments served.
Men’s Night Out: What better way to blow off some steam than to meet up with the guys for liquid refreshments? Our favorite haunt is the Black Duck, but we occasionally venture out to new places. Watch for the annual Fall Classic the Barkie Golf Tournament as well as Men’s Softball.
Mostly Outdoor Activity Club: Hiking, kayaking, ice skating—members take advantage of the great outdoors throughout the year in Westport and beyond.
Out and About: We’ll take excursions to explore cultural activities in the area such as museum exhibits, shows and art galleries, often followed by lunch.
Special Events: Throughout the year we’ll take advantage of special opportunities—in Westport and surrounding areas. Previous outings have included events with the Westport Historical Society, trips to local craft shows and house tours. The highlight of the year is our annual Clambake on Compo Beach.
Tennis: Neighbors and Newcomers Tennis group plays once a week at Norwalk Tennis and Fitness from September- May. Places are allocated during the summer but sub positions are available throughout the year.
TGIF: Thank Goodness It’s Friday—held each month at a member’s home, this casual evening is a perfect way for singles and couples meet new friends or catch up with old friends. Members bring an appetizer or dessert and beverage to share.
Walking Group: Join us two mornings a week for fresh air, exercise and conversation along Compo Beach. We meet at the cannons, weather permitting, and we can split into groups based on individual pace. Strollers welcome.
